It may surprise you, but Jaipur does have a nightlife and a pretty good one at that, once you know where to look! Contrary to popular belief there are places that you can go drinking and dance the evening away….my tired feet can testify to that after having been on the dance floor many times at 100% Rock!
So if your wondering what to do on an evening in Jaipur and your looking for somewhere to get a beer rather than a cold coffee wandering around statue circle, then look no further. Here we have a list of the most popular nightlife spots in Jaipur, vibrant places with dance floors and cool music and where you can chill and soak up the atmosphere on the modern roof top bars.
100% Rock
Best nights to go: Friday and Saturday Drink prices: Beer 200rs, Cocktails 300rs
A place decorated out in homage to Rock music. Where you can order food alongside the funky statue of Johny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean and put your dance shoes on and rock away to the Western music they play here. They have a ladies night on Monday and Thursday. This place is popular amongst locals and tourists and serves a wide range of drinks. They have plenty of outdoor seating with waiter service if you want to enjoy the atmosphere in a more chilled manner.
Black out
Best nights to go: Thursday and Saturday Drink prices: Beer 175rs, Cocktails 270rs
Black out is a funky club in c scheme, combining great food, a range of alcoholic drinks and a roof terrace too alongside a dance floor with the latest music. Enjoy the panoramic view of Jaipur with the local beer Kingfisher or try their amazing range of cocktails whilst you soak up the ambience in this popular bar in Jaipur. Alongside 100% Rock it continues to be one of the most visited clubs in Jaipur.
Palladio
Best nights to go: Any night Drink prices: Beer 175rs, Cocktails 400rs
The crème de la crème! This place is divine and exquisite and is worth a visit at least once during your time in Jaipur to sit back and relax in their outdoor seating area with cosy sofas and a fire pit and enjoy a luxurious cocktail. This is the place lots of ex pats hang out, it’s also becoming popular amongst locals and it’s not hard to see why. With the art deco peacock blue walls and Imperial Indian style this place has class! They have a great food menu too and I’ve often been down there when they have some live music on. My friends certainly enjoy coming here despite being a tad expensive.
Road House at Holiday Inn
Best nights to go: Any night Drinks prices: Beer 280rs, Cocktails 520rs
Road House is ideally located close to Blue Beds Hostel, in the Holiday Inn Hotel. It’s another bar that has become more popular over recent years and is becoming one of the most happening places in town. It has a great range of drinks on offer including cocktails an of course good food. Drinks can be quite pricey but they also tend to run a lot of offers. It’s a great place to sit and hang with friends and catch up on the day with a chilled atmosphere.
ta Blu at Clarks Amer
Best nights to go: Any night Drinks prices: Beer 240rs, Cocktails 520rs
Another chilled out classy place would have to be the roof top bar at the 5 star Clarks Amer hotel which has a very laid back feel to it. Despite it being five star prices are reasonable especially when considering you get to look out over some of Jaipur and question if you are even in India. Be aware this place claims to have a cover charge, although I’ve never been charged. It’s around 15 minutes away so you’ll need an Uber or Auto to reach there but if your wanting to try something a little different with a Mediterranean feel then head here.
Hotel Royal Sheraton rooftop bar
Best nights to go: Any night Beer price: 250rs
I couldn’t write about the nightlife without mentioning one of my favourite places! In the heart of the old city, this place is a little difficult to find but worth it, especially if you have been busy hitting the bazaars below. What I like about this place is it has a great rooftop bar where you can see the Forts and even the Sindhi temple below. I don’t think you can beat rooftop bars for giving you that sense of really being in India as you relax here listening to the sound of the temples around you. The beer is a good price and the food is also tasty, this place has more of a local feel to it, getting away from the tourist trap. Organise your transport home before leaving the hotel if it’s late at night as it’s rather dark and secluded around there.
Polo Lounge
Best nights to go: Friday and Saturday Drinks prices: Beer 350rs, Cocktails 800rs
More on the expensive side of places to go, but still definitely worth a visit. This place continues to work on appealing to it’s clientèle by putting on live DJs and Sufi nights. With a swanky high class rooftop terrace and cosy seating area along with a happening and busy dance floor, this is a rather exclusive place to go. If you want to go and see a live band in Jaipur the Polo Lounge is an ideal place to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the experience, albeit with a higher price tag.
House of People
Best nights to go: Wednesday and Saturday Drinks prices: Beer 340rs, Cocktails 620rs
Located in Hotel Las Vegas you have House of People! Another place to get your dance shoes on and strut your moves to the latest music played by their resident DJ in their rooftop bar and club. Known for its good food and ambience this is a popular and well rated place in Jaipur to go to especially for the clubbing. Most Wednesdays they have a Sufi band on, so a chance to listen to some live music.
So there is our round up of the best nightlife spots in Jaipur, your day doesn’t have to end when the sun goes down! Alongside the usual places to drink and hang out with new friends, there are opportunities to watch stand up comedy or attend acoustic nights at various locations through out the cities, dependent on when these events are on. Don’t worry, we’ll give you a monthly round up of events that are on in the city so you can check out some of the local events and maybe make some new local friends and experience India in a different way.
